Welcome to Our "Married" Website!!

WELCOME!!! This site is a documentation of our lives - at least the parts of them we think you may be interested in.  Julia's usually the main poster, but I jump in occansionally.  Hope you love the site as much as we do and please leave some comments to let us know what you think!

BROWSERS: IE 7, Firefox 3, and Safari 3 all {appear to} work great!  Finally, Firefox caught up to my layout.  Previously, some had trouble with our site crashing Firefox 2 on Macs - I have absolutely no clue why that would happen, except that Macs are dumb.  Good luck with that one!  :)

Laughter!

Hearing your child laugh has got to be one of the absolute best things in the world.  Tyson got this on "guy's day" while I was helping host a bridal shower (only 48 more days Nikki!).  I think our boy loved hanging out with dad for the day!!  "Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy" Psalm 128:2 - I hope there's a lot more laughter to come in our home!

On the move

Last week, I was just kinda running around the house getting ready to go out that night, when I caught our little guy on the move!  This was the farthest he'd traveled!  Only a couple minutes prior to this shot, he was under his toys on the mat - It happended quick!!!  I didn't know a 3 month old could roll so much!  For awhile, I just had to keep flipping him back over.  Now, I have to keep moving him back onto his mat!

Yeah...

I'm actually surprised it's survived for as long as it has since I literally drop it every single time I get out of the car.  I always forget it's on my lap, so when I get out...it's on the ground.  Sorry to everyone who's tried to reach me!  A repair shop I went to didn't have my cell parts in stock and Alltel wanted to give me a hefty fee on top of the price of a new phone...so I don't know when I'll reachable at this point.  Hopefully everyone has Tyson's cell number in the meantime! Of course, comments are a great way to reach me too! :)

Lots of activites in the last couple of weeks! And of course, that just means more pictures and less time to post!  Maybe I'll have more time now though, being that I'm not talking on the phone so much.... :)

Little Yoda

Here are some more pictures from last Friday!  Tyson and I ended up not dressing up.  I think the Yoda costume was enough excitement for us.  We even decorated his stroller as a swamp :).  We decided to go to the "fall festival" at the church Tyson grew up at.  We left the house planning to arrive just before sunset, but the traffic was stop & go, bumper to bumper - it was terrible!  We kept thinking it would clear and we would make it, but things never improved.  Finally, as the sun was just about to go down, we decided to just pull off to the side of the road and do a photoshoot!  We were so relieved and excited to get these shots of our little Yoda.  He ended up being great the whole night! Here are the "side of the road" pics!

I LOVE this outfit my mom got him!

The Stewards - Before and After :)

Jason and Katie are good friends of ours from church (they're also fellow Gators!).  We became even closer after going through a parenting class together while Katie and I were both pregnant.  The cow pasture was the perfect setting for them because Jason is an ag teacher.  They even decorated their nursery with farm animals.  Here they are - before and after!

Tyson snuck this one of me (pregnant) in the background :)

Murder Mystery Party

Our friends Debbi & Brandon threw a murder mystery party last weekend!  We were told to dress as a gangster and a 1920s flapper girl.  And guess who ended up being the murderer??  That's right - ME!  :) Only one person at the party guessed correctly.  Normally that would be a good thing - but I'm wondering if I acted so bad that no one guessed...  Acting is definitely not my thing.  Really not my thing.  I'm like "um...let me look at my book again".  I think I'll be so much better the next time I do a party like this though.  And one thing that was so strange in a good way - Tyson had to pursue me as part of his character and I wasn't supposed to like him.  I felt so weird with him outwardly hitting on me the whole night and me ignoring him!  I wish we brought our camera!  Debbi especially had an awesome costume!  Here's a picture she took of us!!  Thanks Debbi for an awesome night!!!

3 Months! Update Time

Three Months!!  I can't believe how much has happened in just a short period of time.  I know I'll continue to be amazed throughout the next year.  I really couldn't be happier than I am now - It's an unbelievable feeling watching him change everyday and smile more and more.

SLEEP - Our boy sleeps about eleven hours each night now!  Every couple days though, he wakes around 5 am - we then change him and he goes back to sleep.  If we have to change his clothes though, he gets really awake and it's harder.  Unfortunately, I can't say that Tyson and I have been getting any more sleep though.  Tyson's been mega busy (he had the flu for a week!! he's working the electric for our house, taking classes, work, etc) and I always want to stay up late to hang out with him.  I think we're just going to be sleep deprived until we move and Tyson gets a couple hours back in his day.

STANDING - This has been his favorite thing to do for a couple weeks now.  He always wants to stand!  If you have him on your lap, you'll feel him push up to stand.  If you hold his arms, he can get up with his own strength!  He used to get tired really quickly, but now he can keep on standing as long as your holding him!

FLIPPING - He's a lot more comfortable with flipping now.  There's only occasional tears now when he's on his belly and feels he can't get back over.  If I put him down to sleep when he's too awake, he'll travel in his crib :).

SMILING AND TALKING - I LOVEEEE his smiles!!  He smiles all the time now whenever I look at him.  And, just as exciting, he talks to us! :) If he's lying down (and not distracted), he'll make adorable noises back to you.  He tries so hard to move his mouth to make whatever noises you just made.  We've tried to capture this on video, but he spots the camera immediately and gets distracted :) We'll have to be sneaky next time!

Here's a video of taking off on our first "big kid" stroller ride.  The stroller used to have a bassinet instead of a seat - but he recently started to get very upset on walks.  He was sooooo much happier sitting up!  I think it needed to be converted a couple weeks ago.  Here he is!!  (I accidentally had the camera sideways for the first half of the clip...)

At the Beach!

A good friend of mine from college, Evan Hengge, was in town vacationing at a nearby beach.  We took the opportunity to show our boy the ocean for the first time!  I cannot describe to you how excited he was a few mintues before this picture when he stood up facing the water.  I think he had the largest grin I'd ever seen on his face.  I won't ever forget that moment!  Thanks Evan for taking some pictures of all three of us!  Here's our family at the beach! - notice he's standing up! :)

Evan with his new camera.

Teaching him about the ocean...

There were so many birds - all those little black dots are birds!

he's a cutie!

I think we'll be back :)

Sitting Up! (almost...)

A little over two weeks ago, I got out the popular Bumbo seat to try it out.  I hadn't used it before because I thought he was still too little - but I was definitely wrong!  He was SOOO proud of himself for being able to sit up without my help.  He got super excited with a huge grin.  I had to run and find the camera after soaking in his excitement!

Since then, he's used this seat every single day.  He just sits down next to me - whether I'm on the computer or in the kitchen!  If I walk behind him, he'll nearly start to strain trying to turn his head far enough around to see me!  I feel like he got weeks older the moment he started using it.  It really amazes me how much he interacts now.  Expect a post with lots of updates!  He's learned a lot of new tricks! :) Here he is two and half weeks ago when first getting a taste of sitting up alone!

Workin it

When going through the latest wedding pictures, I smiled when I saw that Tyson and I had both taken pictures of each other without the other knowing it.  Tyson and I love working on projects with each other, and he's always been teaching me various things since I met him - but I would have never guessed before we got married that we'd be doing wedding photography together!  One would think it seems so far from facility design or electrical circuits!  Not many other photographers also coded their own webpage completely from scratch.  I know I've said it a million times - but I love being married to Tyson!  I love how we can pick activities we love doing and get better and better at them together.  I really feel like we can do or learn anything together - whether it's physics or graphic design (okay - so maybe it's Tyson learning it and then teaching me...but still...).  And I love how no matter what it is, it never seems like work when I'm doing it with Tyson - it's always fun!  (or maybe I just want any bit of Tyson's rare free time that even having him teach me about his passion of bugs is exciting :)...).  Anyway - here we are in action!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!
